Our Story
Karen Colli is the Founder of Odindisa. As a Town Planner in local government for 15 years, Karen thinks about long-term outcomes and the responsibility that comes with shaping the future. At Odindisa, we believe breeding deserves that same care and consideration.
Karen concurrently serves as a Branch Executive Councillor for the Western Australian Services Union. This background in planning, advocacy and representative leadership strongly influences the way Karen approaches breeding: thoughtfully, ethically and with long-term responsibility in mind.
Before becoming a Town Planner, Karen completed a Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Western Australia, graduating with a double major in Botany and Zoology. Karen has a deep understanding of a suite of very relevant subjects, earning an invitation to Honours for both majors. Subjects included:
Functional morphology
Population genetics
Neurological studies
Hormones and physiology
Karen maintains access to subscription-based academic libraries and veterinary journals to access health data and developmental outcomes typically unavailable to the general public. Karen utilises this to ensure their knowledge remains both modern and scientifically robust.
In 2024, Karen became a member of the Working Party and Chief Steward for WA Earthdog and Bale Seek. They were a member of the Working Party until October 2025, helping to establish the foundations of Earthdog in WA and nation-wide, finalising the necessary documents and diagrams for Bale Seek to gain recognition with ANKC, which was achieved in October 2025.
Following on from this, in 2026 Karen became an aspiring Foundational Judge of Bale Seek.
